‘Optional attendees’ New Feature in Google Calendar

Today, Google announced in Gmail Blog the availability of ‘Optional attendees’ Feature in Google Calendar. By using ‘Optional attendees’ Feature in Google Calendar you can make any Guest in a meeting Optional.

Whenever you plan a meeting, you should remember that Guests roles in meetings always vary. Some people have to be there to lead the meeting or help make decisions, whereas others are optional. Without knowing in which meeting attendance is must and in which attendance is optional, it can be difficult for a person to know which meetings he really needs to attend. That’s where Google Calendar’s new ‘Optional attendees’ feature comes in. Click on the “Make some attendees optional link” above the guest list and then toggle the role of each attendee by clicking the icon next to his or her name.

Time is one of our most precious resources. Google hope that this feature will help users to more effectively manage their time.
